This article covers a few of the biggest errors in terms of appearance that sellers in the real estate area these errors can be easily avoided and help your home sell for a higher price.

Lighting is crucial when showing your house to a buyer.

Mistake #1 - Poor Lighting Any time your house is bright and sunny it will be much more appealing to potential buyers. A dark house seems dark and gloomy.

Pull back all the curtains after opening all the windows. Adding some extra lighting to a house will help if it has poor natural light.

2nd error - Neglecting Fragrance

The subtle scent of your home plays a large role in the purchaser's attitude. You should not have any unpleasant or foul odors in your home. 

No buyer will want to have to deal with any type of bad smells that exist in your house when they tour it. Utilizing air deodorizers could make a big difference prior to exhibiting the home.

It is also important to remember to pay attention to your home's exterior as well as its interior. On the exterior, both the paint and yard play an important factor in the buyer's decision making process.

Mistake #4 - Strange Colors

Perhaps you have a teenager who's painted his walls orange. Perhaps pink appeals to you or matches with your paintings. While you may like the color scheme in your home it may be a big turn off for a potential buyer.

Tiles must be scraped of all grime. Most often it's a good idea to get rid of old windows with new ones.
